Disguise a Turkey

I introduced a creative writing lesson to my second and third grade students. The creative writing piece explained to the students that:

On Thanksgiving, thousands of turkeys become a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. Your pet turkey is doomed to end up on a Thanksgiving platter if you don't help him.
Write a paragraph describing how you are going to help your turkey by giving him a disguise so that he can be saved!!!

After introducing this to the students they began writing their stories about how they planned to disguise their turkeys!
