We're Going On A Leaf Hunt

Today, I read the story We're Going On A Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger. The students were very engaged during the reading and even pretended that they were pulling leafs off a tree! Once I had finished reading the story, I explained to students that they would be completing a leaf investigation report.

The students completed the report by drawing a picture of what their leaf looked like. They were to measure their leaf in centimeters, determine if their leaf was small, medium, or large, and predict what would happen if they rubbed a crayon over the leaf. I found this lesson on Teachers Pay Teachers. The student's really enjoyed it! Their leaf rubbings came out so nicely! I love this time of year. :)
