My first week in the learning support special ed classroom has been a memorable one. My teacher and her aide service 10 lovely students. When my teacher isn't instructing the students in her classroom, we go out and support those students in their regular ed classroom. My teacher is so kind-hearted and loves her job!!
In my first couple of days I have already made so many connections with these students. My cooperating teacher has asked me to work with them in Writing Workshop. We really want to focus on their hand writing abilities. I had discussed with these two students about 'What does good writing look like?' I created an anchor chart that will be hung up each day for reviewing before writing. The students are exposed to many different types of writing paper.
I reconstructed a sticker story paper with appropriate lines for the students to focus on their letter sizing, spacing, and hand writing credentials. I also highlighted the lines so the students were able to focus on their writing.
I love being able to implement my ideas into the classroom already! I am very eager for another 7 weeks 🙂
