I am overjoyed with our day today!
The students worked on a computer program titled I-Ready. This is an assessment in which places the students in levels of proficiency, average, and below for Reading and Math. The students completed the online tests in about one hour. The program also stops the testing and throws a game into the lesson for a brain break for the students. (I love that!!) They did such a nice job working hard and doing their best during the testing. They will complete the I-Ready testing four times a year, therefore once a marking period.
After I-Ready, the students dismissed for lunch. They are very excited about building their reading stamina during Read-To-Self. Last week our times were 1:28, 3:35, 6:56, and 9:44. (Minutes and seconds). They understand the concept of reading to themselves. This will eventually segway into our Daily Five.
Today our students reached a total of twelve minutes and fifty-one seconds!! Mrs. Gamber and I are so thrilled with our student's progress in these first six days of school.
