Happy Monday!
Today was extremely busy yet successful! I am currently teaching all small reading groups now (students of 3-6 in a group during rounds of Daily 5). I had to plan lessons for each group. They are grouped by levels. During my groups, I taught the students about sequencing and how we understand the words First, Next, Then, and Last. The topic that every group used was Dinosaurs! We all read a different leveled story about Dinosaurs and completed a handout. I was super proud of their skills!
I also taught Math today. Our focus for this week is adding and subtracting in word problems. I introduced the concept of Number bonds to the students today.
The students do Math after Recess and sometimes I find it difficult to keep their attention. I have found ways to bring them back to me with breathing techniques and shaking out the wiggles. I am SO proud of them! I also jump around like a little goon to keep them laughing and engaged. :)
This student teaching experience is flying by and I couldn't be more proud of the students and myself!
