Student Teaching...here I come!

I created a Back to School letter to send home with parents on Meet the Teachers night. This letter will be used for my first placement in First Grade in the Lower Dauphin School District. I wanted to give the parents a little background information about me.I also wanted the students to know that they would be having a student teacher in the class.

I am very anxious to get to meet the students and parents in a couple weeks at Meet the Teachers night!

Want to know what I included in my letter to the parents? Keep reading!

Hello! My name is Logan Erbach and I am a student at Shippensburg University. I will be teaching in your child’s class along with Mrs. Christie Gamber. After student teaching I will be graduating with a dual degree in Elementary Education PreK-4th grade and Special Education PreK-8th grade. I will be spending eight weeks with your child and eight weeks in a Learning Support classroom in another school within Lower Dauphin School District.
I was born in Harrisburg, PA and currently live in Jonestown, PA. In my spare time I enjoy going to yard sales, thrift shopping, and refurbishing old furniture. I also enjoy photography and spending time with my family and fiancĂ©e.
In May, I went on a service learning trip to Jamaica with the Special Education Department from Shippensburg University. I was able to interact with many children with disabilities at their local schools. It was a trip of a lifetime and an experience I will never forget.
This fall is going to be an explosion of learning both for the students and myself! I am so excited to be teaching your child. I cannot wait to get to know this classroom of First Graders! These next eight weeks are going to be awesome.

Sincerely,
Ms. Logan  Erbach
