Jamaica day 7

It's hard to believe that day number 7 is here in Jamaica and it's our LAST DAY here.

Did you know?
A teachers salary here in Jamaica for ONE YEAR is $600 (US). Could you imagine making a living off of $600?

Lingering thoughts:
When we arrived at the school yesterday, the students were standing outside the school. Miranda and I walked up and saw about 20 students standing outside, with book bags on their backs, and not a teacher or parent in sight. We decided to start playing a game with the children.

The gate in which we walked into at the school was open and the school is located on a busy road. Miranda and I couldn't even fathom how 3-6 year olds were standing by themselves, outside, for at least 30 minutes! They definitely enjoying playing What Time Is It Mrs. Fox?

Miranda and I have been flattered by the constant love and kindness of our house mother. We have fresh fruit every morning for breakfast along with a hot dish. She always has Miranda's coffee being made and a tea bag in my mug. She is so compassionate and so wise. Her husband also is a gentle soul. They crack us up during every conversation. We gave her our house gift and she was thrilled with the gesture.

Today we are heading to Negril to be full on tourist!! We will be stopping at margaritaville and Rick's Cafe! Apparently at Rick's Cafe there is a 30 foot jump off a cliff. Mir and I will NOT be participating in that but it will be cool to see if someone does!!!

We arrived in margaritaville today and enjoyed lunch with sand in between our toes.

It was hot and a couple of girls got their hairs braided!! We bought some souvenirs also.

We headed to Rick's cafe, where 2 of my colleagues jumped off the 30 foot cliff!! Insane. Remember how I said my roommate and I wouldn't be jumping? Well Mir and I decided to jump!!... But only from the 15 foot cliff. Haha

It was a wonderful day being able to hangout in the sun.

Tonight is send-off night here for our trip! We will spend the evening with the Jamaican community at the AOC, dancing and enjoying the last company of these wonderful folks.
