Jamaica day 2

What a day!
My roommate and I woke up to breakfast by our house mother of bacon, eggs, toast, fresh fruit and coffee and tea! After breakfast, we drove to Bluefield where we arrived to a very run down restaurant on the beach. Both the special Ed department and the counseling department were able to work on cleaning up and painting the resort restaurant. With minimum supplies and working along side of easy going Jamaicans, it was a long day! We painted the restaurant yellow and brown and gave the entire outside a facelift.

The Jamaican people are very accustomed to a slow moving life style. They will ask you to help them move chairs and end up dancing for five minutes to their favorite song!! Hilarious.

After all the hard work, we were able to walk 500 feet and enjoy the warm sea water! We all jumped into the water and splashed around, taking pictures and enjoy ourselves.

We bused home where we met back with our house mothers who had dinner prepared for us! The house mother that my roommate and I are staying with had mentioned to us that we "eat like the boys!!" Who were her previous students she had staying with her.

After dinner, we met at the school to have a meeting with one of the house Mom's and we sang a song!

Smile a while and give yourself a rest
Raise your hands, to those you love the best
Then join hands with those near by
And greet them with a smile

We are really enjoying our time here and are eager to be in the elementary school tomorrow!
